I have tried to follow this debate with an open mind and to try to reach some conclusions. I have followed it to this point, but I now need an answer to some direct questions.

As I understand it, the primary allegation from Mr Meacock is that the council never intended to ensure that the Ice Rink was replaced and entered into illegal deals with the developer.

Evidence :
1. There was a secret meeting in September 1989 where an (illegal) agreement was reached. So secret that it was minuted and Councillor Arbour was able to discover the minutes when he managed to get back on the council.
Question a : How does the timing of this meeting relate to the various other proceedings and the timing of planning applications?
Question b: What is in these minutes if it has not resulted in prosecutions?
Question c: Is it simply evidence of a council back-up plan if the Old Deer Park site was not viable?
2. Mr Meacock had holes in his window which looked like bullet holes and has suffered several broken windows. Question a : Is he suggesting that the Council indulged in this action, or the Beckwiths or someone else?
Question b : Is there no-one else who may not like him, such as an old flame or an ex-tenant?
Question c : Is this very different from the record of other shops in similar locations?
3. A counsel for the Council died in unusual circumstances, but not as far as the police were concerned suspicious ones and, as far as I can tell, no different from when the uncle of a friend had a heart attack on his way home from work.
Question a : What purpose would this act serve if it was deliberate?
4. This seems very tenuous.
Final Question : Is there no other evidence ?
