So Cllr. Mann has not heard the rumours. Since they have been repeated several times on this web-site and he is an avid reader, I find that hard to believe.

But then much of what he says is hard to believe.

And, of course he does not answer the main point which I made. Does he know for sure that the monies used for the purchase of Hampton Court House did not arise from the proceeds of crime - even if the crime was only evading (as opposed to avoiding)UK taxation?

If not does he not think, both as a councillor and as a solicitor, that it irresponsible of a man in his position not to have checked?

Whilst the District Auditor might not have investigated the source of the money, it is understood that the solicitors advising him have almost certainly referred the matter to the police to investigate possible money-laundering. Is it not shaming that a deal in which Richmond Council, who act as custodians of our assets, has been a party should require such investigation?

Cllr. Mann, instead of spinning on this site, why do you not do what you were elected to do and look after our property? Or will you, too, blindly follow the party line and support giving away the Twickenham riverside site for £1?
