I really haven't heard any rumours, but maybe I don't listen to tittle-tattle. Nor have I applied for a copy of the title to this property. Nor do I know who owns this company. Nor do you, it appears. If you have seen the register, what is the UK address for the proprietor?

If you have any evidence that this company is engaged in any illegal activity, of the kind you mention, then you should present it to the proper authorities. If you haven't, then is it reasonable to indulge in wild speculation?

Clearly if the District Auditor didn't think that he should investigate who the shareholders of the purchaser was, then neither was it appropriate that the Council did.

There is actually very little unusual about vesting a property in an offshore company. It is not against the law, and it can be tax efficient. If the law was ever changed to make it unlawful, then, and only then, would the council have to get excited about it.
