Cllr. Mann should be given credit for being one of the only two Lib.Dem councillors who is prepared to try and defend this rotten administration. (Cllr. Cardy was the other).

At least if they are logging on to this site they are not downloading paediophile porn on council-owned laptops, as at least one of their colleagues is known to have done.

But I do wish that as part of his defense the councillor would explain why every sale made by the Council (under David Williams and Razzall) has involved a huge loss to the ratepayers. Why, too, has (with the exception of LET and the Beckwith brothers) every deal been done with almost unknown buyers even when far better-known companies have been prepared to offer more?

Cllr. Mann has been there for seven years. He was, therefore, a councillor when Hampton Court House was sold to Fredic for £3 million +. This £100 company was established in the BWI in such a way that no one could ascertain its ownership. Does he know who owns it and who therefore was the buyer of Hampton Court House? IF SO WHY NOT TELL US?

Until we know we can only continue to speculate, as the late Ken Hathaway said to the District Auditor, that it could be the Town Clerk's mother. Or Lord Razzall. Or Osama Bin Laden. Or anyone else who had something to hide.

Did Cllr. Mann not feel, as a custodian of our property, that he had a responsibility to ensure that the sale was not part of a tax-scam or worse?

I get the impression that Cllr. Mann is one of the straigter Lib.Dem councillors. If only he will use his position to get to the bottom of some of the murkier dealings of his colleagues and erstwhile colleagues and look for possible backhanders being offered and received in respect of some of the deals and planning permissions which are still going through, we will all be in his debt.
