Come of it Cllr. Mann. You must know that the land registery will show that Hampton Court House is owned by Fredic. The question is and always has been "who owns Fredic?"

The rumour mill has it that the Lady who represents them in the UK was very close to one of your colleagues.

We have heard the rumour from a number of councillors, Labour, Conseravtive and Lib Dem and, also, from council employees. In the interst of those concerned, if the rumour is not true it should be denied. Although the rumour has been around for several years, I am not aware of any denial.

You must have heard the rumour yourself. Do you wish to deny it?

That is what the District Auditor was asked to investigate. He has said that it is no business of his to investigate the purchaser - even if it was Cllr. Mann himself.

For some reason he thinks that neither Richmond Council nor the District Auditor himself are subject to the money-laundering regulations.

Cllr. Mann, Do you know who owns Fredic? If so please tell us. If not please do not please tell us why you think it is unimportant. Do you relish doing deals with the Mafia or terrorists or tax-dodgers?

Do you not care that in selling to unknown persons the Council might be pocketing the proceeds of crime? Or do you not care?
