I have never been invited to cross the doormat of Mr Jessel's house, and I cannot imagine any circumstances short of the freezing over of hell where this might happen.

It is very simplistic to suppose that just because somewhere is big and listed, it is also worth loads of money. The cost of renovation and maintenance of this house is and was so great that its value is degraded.

The District Auditor found no evidence that the property was undersold. As a result of the sale, this listed property is in good order and has been preserved for the future.

If you can supply me with an accurate (not speculative) account of the spending on the property, and a justified valuation of it in its current state subject to the restrictions on the site and its development which currently exist, I will comment further. Until then, I will be content to note what the District Auditor said.
