Very good points here RH that need answering. This pattern of transfer to lease arrangements and selling the freehold is very worrying. I'd make the following 6 points:

1. The wider majority need to be alerted to this and express concern. It is far too serious to just shrug shoulders and carry on regardless.
2. We need to find ways of preventing any sell offs or contentious planning schemes set in motion before next May.
3. I agree with your point that right to buy receipts should meet social housing needs and the matter should be pressed. As the ruling Lib Dems are a lost cause, I mean that all non Lib Dem opposition (or any ready to bail out) should be actively canvassed to state a view.
4. In Cllr Mann's reply to my posting, he omitted to mention where all the money from asset sales (figures of £80-£100m have been mentioned) has been spent for LBRuT residents benefit. Until that is adequately answered, suspicions of corruption will always remain. How much is in the 'black hole' and who is hiding in there?
5. It is a major flaw of our system that allows a ruling administration, elected for a four year term only, the power to inflict such major damage that will have a long term impact affecting future generations.
6. My personal gripe is that an excellent special school for children with emotional and behavioural difficulties is about to become another casualty. Another appalling decision being rushed through for a December closure, before next May, where the opposition are united and would reverse the decision. Too late once the deed is done.
Few people seem to have shown concern over this issue either.

When I've used the term 'united' before which was misinterpreted, I've had in mind more of a 'coalition' of interests, as I recognise that we are disparate and do come from different angles. How about a coalition for 'honesty, openness, fair play and competence'? We can all learn about each others particular in-depth knowledege of particular areas. Then spread the word. Weekend or evening meeting somewhere anyone?
