It is true that LBRuT receives proportionately very little from central government compared to other boroughs and that is another issue to be addressed. I have a strong instinct, and I'll admit it is no more than that, that we have been failed by our present administration in allowing this situation to continue. I believe that with more competence, shrewdness, intelligence and dynamism LBRuT could have gained much more from central government funding.

I'll also accept that all charges of corruption are unproven and remain allegations only. I do not go in for general accusations but do draw conclusions from the patterns of information emerging. This includes sources that have been generally kind to the ruling administration such as the Richmond & Twickenham Times, as posted on this site today. Incidentally, your defence in itself was very general too, with nothing to back it up.

It does all appear to be very disturbing and I think you will have a hard job selling a positive message to the electorate. By all means produce some factual hard evidence to defend why we seem to be in such a financial mess and where income from land/premises sell offs has gone to, for the benefit of LBRuT residents. Then justify why elderly residents will have to pay £27.50 for wheelie bins and in social services LBRuT is among the 14 worst performers in the country and a massive overspend passed by unnoticed.

You seem to be a decent person to me and I'd find it hard to believe that you consider this to be acceptable unless party politics is stronger than individual conscience.
