What Cllr Mann has omitted from his message is the fact that if his party had not frittered away the money which was needed each year to maintain this popular nine-hole golf course and buildings in the good condition that it was when they took control of the Council there would be no need to sell off yet another bit of our heritage.
This Council, under first David Williams and Tim Razzall and now Serge Lourie,
has sold well over £100 million of our carefully hoarded assets at knock-down prices. Even so we have the highest rates in England (as opposed to the lowest in London when they came to power). Where has all the money gone?
No wonder Private Eye features Richmond so prominenely in its Rotten Boroughs column.
Incompetence or corruption - your guess is as good as mine. All I know is that by the time that this mos are voted out there will be nothing left for an incoming LABOUR, CONSERVATIVE, GREEN or INDEPENDENT council to manage.
