As a novice in planning matters, can anyone explain what the public notice the R&T Times means? (Page 22). Headed Green Belt (London and Home Counties)Act 1938.

'The Mayor and Burgesses of the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames ("the council")intend to dispose of the land and premises at Twickenham Golf Course, Staines Road, Twickenham having an area of 26.82 hectares. The disposal by the council is to be by way of a Lease for 125 years to Stax Leisure Limited. The purpose of the disposal is to provide an improved public golf course, together with other sports and leisure facilities.'

Is this another asset being sold off or another Twickenham Riverside scenario in the making? Or is it all good news and beneficial as claimed?
