I suggest that it would help the Conservative Party cause no end in Richmond if they;

A/ Did agree to put a few Councillors on School governing bodies so when contributing to educational debates either in the Council chamber or press, the Tory spokespeople could speak from a position of knowing what is going on in schools today, not what was happening ten or fifteen years ago.

B/ Actually turned up to meetings. I hear that the Tory appointment to the group doing what is probably the most important task at present - looking at the Social Services overspend and what went wrong - hasn't been to any meetings. The said Tory can't complain about Liberal bias as a Labour Councillor is chairing the group in question.

It often seems that the Tories only turn up to meetings they think the press will be at. Not very public service minded!
