The sheer ignorance and hypocrisy of Councillor Mann and his ilk is appalling.

Councillors obviously think it a good idea to pay themselves. At the same time, with straight faces, they proposed their 'housing transfer' as being some kind of improvement to democracy, notwithstanding the fact that their tenants were expected to want to sit regularly on a company board, thus taking on some very serious responsibilities, but with no remuneration whatsoever in return. (One effect of this has been that one of the places on the Board appears to be perpetually vacant)

Similarly, I am not at all pleased that Councillor Mann neglects to concede that some us, with no particular financial support from beyond our own families, do as much work as the Councillors we watch, but again, we get sweet f.a. back for it. Opposition parties with few members or no members on the Council suffer a serious disadvantage.
