There are three possible sites. I say "possible" but must attach a health warning that in order to achieve any of these would require possible changes to the UDP and finalising of all kinds of detail.

One is, of course, the Pools on the Park site. There are formidable problems here, mainly associated with access arrangements and no doubt residents' objections.

The second is the Hampton Waterworks site. Officers are working on a planning brief at the moment. I have no idea what they will come up with, but it is a big site, and maybe a leisure facility within it might be something worth looking at.

There are also problems here. Part of the site is green belt, and there are extensive areas given over to buildings which are worth preserving.

The third, which is even more speculative, might be the Post Office site in Twickenham.

Of course development of an ice rink upon any of these would be competing with other possible uses.

I have no idea of what operational constraints play upon the choice of a site for an ice rink. But waiting until any or all of these sites are the subject of a competing application will be a mistake.
