This all looks very positive for improving participation and voting.

In the land of wishful thinking, what, I wonder, are LBRuT's plans for introducing e-democracy and postal voting at next May's local elections?

Nick Raynsford has written to every council leader inviting them to apply to participate in the pilot scheme. As 'transparency' is a theme of the new cabinet system, does anyone know if Cllr Lourie has responded and where we can access details of the responding letter?

Of course, even if the answer is yes, LBRuT do not have the I.T. expertise or capability to administer this, which is now going to be outsourced, it seems. Will grants be available to facilitate the scheme? Would they be humble enough to invite John Inglis, whose offer to put their Unitary Development Plans on the community websites (Hampton On-Line etc) were rejected, to be involved? The same John Inglis who actually DID win an award for putting together Vincent Cable's website?

I may be inexperienced in these matters but I'm learning fast.
