I realize you were not challenging me, I was only explaining what I consider bothersome and I wanted to elaborate so that you understood and maybe give me some more insight. I appreciate any feedback I get on this topic, as so many podiatrists are not too familiar with this troublesome little bone. It was not my intention to appear combative. The tone in an e-mail can be confusing.
You are correct, it is my Tibial Sesamoid and the exact MRI interpretation was "Non-Displaced fracture of the Tibial sesamoid: There is marrow edema within the tibial sesamoid at the forst metatarsal-sesamoid joint compatible non-displaced fracture, there is no fluid collection". Therefore I was told it is not in 2 places, it is still very much intact but there are jagged lines that run Transverse. Also, the 15 months I mentioned was the amount of time I had heard of, of people who let the bone heal naturally, without surgical intervention.
What I am really wondering is, should I decide to postphone the surgery, will I damage other parts of my foot because I am naturally compensating?? And, if there is AVN, is that bad to let it go?
