Thank you.
It's hard to gauge how "bothersome" it has become. I wear sneakers everyday with special padding to naturally offset the weight from the sesamoid and I began compensating and walking on the outside of my foot, which is now starting to hurt. Bothersome is relative, as I have gotten very used to the pain. WHat does really bother me is that I cant wear shoes and I am a woman and I hate wearing sneakers to work everyday but they are the most comfortable. My doc. has said either live with it or do the surgery and cutout where it's "fractured" , approximately 1/3.
I have done my share of research and it seems that people have pain for up to 15 months, sometimes more. Is is possible that it will revascularize and heal? I asked my doc that and he seems to think if it were to heal it would have done so by now ( 9 months). Also, I read there is a considerable risk in doing he surgery (cock-up deformity, bunions, etc) and like you said, there are no guarantees-which stinks. This isnt exactly like removing a wisdom tooth, this is my foot and I have many years left to walk on it.
-I dont know, this is all very confusing and upsetting and every doctor I've seen has a different opinion and then confuses me even more, lol. I just want a "normal" foot again, or as normal as it can be.

Do you think I should avoid surgery? maybe give it more time?
I have this fracture of my Tibial sesamoid since Feb. 2004. I have been to several docs, walking boot, bone stimulator, cortisone and nothing has improved!
I just had my second MRI and the fracture is exactly the same and it has not healed whatsoever. They doubt there is Avascular Necrosis but still not quite sure.
Please, any info would be great!
