Arthritis could be a possibility with me also due to family history. The pain along the outside of my foot is intense. At times I cannot even touch it at all. I did read one article that suggested that people who are short with short legs (that's me) tend to sit with their legs tucked under them (i.e. ankles crossed under the chair, with the foot bent, weight resting on the ball of the foot). This can apparently cause stress to the area, leading to similar pain as described. I am more conscious of doing this now and try to avoid it, however, I have not noticed any improvement in pain levels yet. I wish there was some way to cast the foot or keep it wrapped that would allow it to rest as recommended while letting me continue about me normal life. Does anyone have any advice or thoughts about this approach?

Laura
