I am in desperate need of bonion surgery, but an illness that I had as a child has left me with limited muscle control of the right side of my body. Not at all noticable to anyone looking at me, but quite regularly, my right foot with tighten and spasm and I am unable to stop it. My friends call it the "claw"!! This condition is most likely what caused the bunion in the first place...that, and the Monolo's (totally impractical shoes...but man, they look great!!) I am deathly affraid of the pain these "spams" will cause post op. I am too affraid to even talk to a surgeon about it in case, when he sees the foot, he insists on the surgery! Does anyone have any experience with this type of condition? Is there a special cast I could wear which would constrict my foot so as to stop the spasm.?
