As I had stated in my response, I fully expected that you would express displeasure at my advice. But I don't see my purpose here, nor do I attempt to make everyone merely happy about themselves when the appropriate medicine which is called for may be a bitter pill.
This is a medium in which the precise words and the extent of those words which one offers in his/her question is all that exists. So, if there was some mitigating information regarding your office visit, you should have either offered it or been resolved to have me draw my conclusions based on its absence. You seem to assert here that you would have eventually have gotten around to the facts, but this is not a social interaction forums, so what you need to say has to be said right up front.
But you open your retort with the implication the it was I who said that doctors should be royal like("your [my] so-called "Royalty-like" doctor figures)and that your question to ME was not worthy. Neither is hardly the case. But after responding to thousands of questions, I know a good one when I read it.
Furthermore, I did not characterize you, in general, as "a wall flower, under-educated or a timid person," only that, along with too many folks in face to face contact with a medical doctor, they seem to play one. Conversely, I would suggest that you would have no trouble in telling him off, in a forum such as this, for how inappropriately you were treated. To prove my point, I'll bet that you didn't confront him in the office with why "he seemed more interested in my impending trip to Hawaii, wanted to know where I was staying and spent more time telling me about the podiatry convention there than getting an extensive patient history or God forbid, touching my foot!"
So, in conclusion . . you asked a question, the answers to which you correctly state, should, in a forum venue, not be relied upon. Conversely, I gave you an answer in which, like it or not, you CAN rely. So if you feel put upon or berated because I gave you the advice I perceive you needed, so be it. But I'll bet dollars to donuts that the next doctor who treats you like the one you just had the misfortune to see and pay will get a piece of your mind right on the spot, just as you were able to some extent give ME a piece of your mind here.
