Certainly one of the major reasons that forums such as this are not really appropriate for either diagnosis or definitive treatment recommendations on an individual basis is exemplified in your second message in which you relate facts which would have been better related initially. It is really not reasonable to expect that a responder should be required to pull the basic facts out of the questioner one fact at a time, such as, what you have already tried and the results of that trial. But answers to such questions such as how long should a part needs to be rested would depend on both the accuracy of the diagnosis and the severity of whatever damage was inflicted. Whether or not it, or any chronic trauma-based problem is likely to recur is dependent upon whether the traumatic event continues and/or whether there is some ongoing pathology or pathomechanics which renders one subject to such a recurrence. But I have to get back to the responsibility of the doctor who examined you and ostensibly took your money. Certainly one would expect some better advice than, "don't do that."
