Tendonitis is most often a clinic diagnosis, and is often suggested when nothing more definitive can be thought of. But if your doctor is correct and you have a problem due to overuse, it would seem reasonable that the fist thing you might try is using the part less, so perhaps, as glorious as might be your local countryside and your pleasure with hill and mountain walking, at least an adequate respite from this activity is called for. If you respond favorably, perhaps a gentle re-introduction would be appropriate. Physical therapy is commonly employed for tendonitis, but without assurance that that is your problem, I would refer you to the diagnosing doctor for the specifics, though I find it curious that he/she made a diagnosis and has apparently offered no treatment plan. |
