Hi PW.
Not knowing what is the underlying cause of your hip issues means suggestions are qualified ones.
Arch supports vary in their type and quality and if your feet are "flat" or of a type where the joints have to much movement in them then a bespoke pair of orthoses may be extremely helpful. The actions of 0ne foot may be quite different from another so bespoke is a preferred way forward. However, as Yoga etc may be done barefoot the devices are best seen as preventing further deterioration of the foot, knee, hip joints etc.
The hip issue sounds like there may be restriction or excessive movement in one joint compared to the other. This may be a boney problem or simply a soft tissue restriction. A Physiotherapist could answer this one more fully and,if soft tissue, provide the best exercises. See if the physio' has a good working relationship with a podiatrist.
