It was YOU, cj, who felt it necessary in your initial comments in this thread to preface, in a rather passive aggressive manner, those comments with a denigrating comment for me. So, let's not play holier than thou. The one piece of advice which you recently gave here was off the mark, and would have been best left unsaid. I don't really care what your area of expertise is, as certainly is not foot surgery. I would hope that you don't substitute your judgment for that of the attendings on the rehab floor.

When someone foists appropriate and/or inaccurate information on the public as I referenced in your post, rudeness is the least of what you might deserve. But I hardly think that correcting your error and holding it up as an example of why those who do not have the proper education, training and credentials in the specific areas of concern should not be telling others what to do or what not to do or why they might be having complications is rudeness. If you want hand-holding, then perhaps you should see your own doctor and pay the price. I spend enough of my time here and I strive to give information, not cheer-leading.

And as far as how and why I can spend the time here, I have answered that many times. I am the founder and senior partner in a major teaching hospital based multi-doctor practice, and I serve as the Chief of the Department of Podiatry. I have long-since paid my dues, spending far too many hours, days and nights treating patients and not having the time to do what I now enjoy. At this juncture in my career, I have earned the ability to spend my time administering, teaching and accepting a limited number of cases of special need or interest to me. Perhaps, some day, your husband will be in that position. If I were as sensitive as you seem to be, I might find your implication that my time spent here means that I don't really have anything to do. That's was not very nice, Miss Manners. . . not nice at ALL.

Was I to be impressed by the fact that your husband allows you to speak? How very nice . . . especially for you.

I agree that it might be nice for some who wish to do so to chat with other who had experienced the same general situation, but the majority of times, the response is not couched as a generalization, but as a specific in a case for which the responder has no real knowledge, overview or appreciation.

So, keep in mind that your readership and/or participation is this forum is voluntary, as is mine. And if you find my posts not particularly to your liking or if the thought of viewing them makes you cringe, I invite you not to read them.

I do not intend to continue this conversation, as I think we both know where each others stands, and neither will I entertain comments from the one or two troublemakers who come here only to disrupt and foment third-party controversy.
