This is a beautiful example of why "pop" medicine can be counter productive and frequently does not have a place in venues such as this where questioners are looking for real and dependable answers. cj stated that you might be experiencing excessive swelling "because you are keeping the foot elevated at times." That is completely back-assward, as elevation of the foot and leg is one of the most useful TREATMENTS for post-traumatic swelling in the lower extremity, not a cause. Hopefully you did not take the responders comment as gospel and think that you should not be elevating your foot. To that end, rather than being silent, even at the risk of being termed, "rude" by cj, I think this major error needs to be corrected. |
