Hopefully the "Foot Doc" won't get rude if I reply to you!!!
I had the very complicated bunion surgeries that then turned into very complicated situations!!
However, yours sounds like it was alot less complicated stuff.
The swelling around the ankle is just the blood and fluids that are migrating due to gravity from the surgical site.
I had the same thing.
This is especially so because your are keeping the foot elevated at times.
The swelling last a long time.
For, me six months of course to a lesser degree as time goes by.
However, I had external pins mucho more traumatic and two toes on one foot and three on the other.
You are young and that is really in your favor!!!
