I can't say that such pertains to your case, but the sympathetic nervous system which controls sweating also controls vascular tone, so there may be some connection if you are looking for just a thought. In regard to psychological testing, which I simply threw in to cover all of my bases, it had nothing to do with your taking Prozac, but more to do with your diagnosis of fibromyalgia, which some think may have a psychologic component. My thoughts were that just about any symptoms and even real physiologic effects can be produced by the mind. These are often termed "hysterical," and such a situation might be considered when there seems to be no medical/physiologic cause and effect. I was pretty sure that would cause the raising of eyebrows, as is often the case any time a
psychologic basis for symptoms is implied or raised as a possibility. But, for the sake of completeness, especially regarding a problem in a patient with whom I have had no personal contact, it is simply a consideration which should not be overlooked. |
