 Subject: Arthritis pain

I have mild bunions on both feet. However, only my left foot has pain in the joint near the bunion, especially after wearing high heel shoes. My doctor has told me that the pain is from arthritis and bunion surgery will not help with that type pain. (Even thought my xrays show space in the joint area and does not appear to be arthritic.) I would like a second opinion. Could bunion surgery help with arthritis pain?
