Hi there

I have significant pain in the ball of my foot to the extent that it's becoming quite difficult to walk. My consultant was not 100% certain with his diagnosis but believes it's either a bursa or a neuroma between the big toe and the second toe and gave me an insert that's intended to spread the two toes to prevent pinching the nerve, though it doesn't seem to be very effective.

Is it possible to have a neuroma between these two toes as all the info on the internet suggests otherwise, the 3rd/4th being the usual suspects?

I noticed this pain in late January, my doc thought it was plantar fascitis at first, anti-inflams helped to some extent but recently they have been completely ineffective and the pain I'm feeling is not as tolerable as it once was. I used to be able to wear sandles without any significant pain; not anymore.

I'm current icing twice a day, taking the anti-inflams, pain meds, walking as little as possible and considering going on crutches for a while to see if there's any improvement. I'm also wearing a ball of foot pad and cushioned shoes but the pain persists, is there anything else I can do to lessen the pain/assist the healing process?

Thanks

Adam
