During the past 2 years I have developed second metarsal problems and neuropathy in both feet. I have visited 2 podiatrist, and I have purchased 2 pr. of special shoes, Drew and SAS and still with no relief. I have also taken up to 1200 milligrams of neurontin daily and that did not help. I have concluded with visits to a chiopractor and acupuncturist with no success. I am wondering if there is anyone on this earth who can give some help. Is there anyone, doctor or patient that has gone down the same road that I have, and tried something that I have not thought of. I am willing to go the surgery route if a case can be made for it. Thanks for any help you can give me.

You really are not giving enough information to even begin suggesting an informed diagnosis, much less a course of action which might be helpful. For instance . . . What is your age? What sort of work do you do? What is the present state of your general health, and what has been your medical history? What,if any, medications are your taking (both prescription and OTC)? What is your neuropathy thought to be secondary to? Has a neurologist made that diagnosis? What specifically are your "second metatarsal problems." Give detailed symptoms including the characteristics and duration of any pain if present, any local manifestations such as redness, heat or swelling, and the extent and characteristics of your neuropathy. Give a history of your present illness . . . when did it started and how did it progressed. Can you pinpoint any exacerbating or precipitating incidence? When do your symptoms occur, precisely where are they manifested and how long do episodes last? Do you experience the problem all of the time, some of the time, only when weight bearing, only when non-weight bearing, when both weight bearing and non-weight bearing? What, if anything, has even temporarily mitigated the problem?

Certainly, nothing can be promised, and don't get your hopes up too high, but give up some info and let's see what comes of it.
