Richmond doesn't dare to have fair local elections - Nor does anywhere else in UK. The present system is so biased against Independents, it is failure guaranteed, yet there is a mathematically fair system and it is PREFERENTIAL VOTING. This means that each voting slip has a full list of candidates and the voter can put a cross against any number of them. Maybe 1, or 3, or 4 or 5, for example. The result of the election, the winner, is the candidate achieving the highest number of votes. Period. What could be fairer than that ? It won't happen because it would undermine The Party Hack System.
