The council website if offline again today. It just goes from bad to worse. Sacking them all is the only answer. What other council would employ such inept staff to maintain their online presence? And do the Lib Dems realize just how incompetent it makes them all look to the online community? They can't realize can they?

After the recent correspondence in Watchdog about the disgraceful bogus award claims on the front page of the Richmond Council website, I see this week that they have now removed one of the offending banners. They were using a "nominated" banner in a way that implied that the Council website had won something of merit, as utterly preposterous as that may seem. Anyway it was on their front page for 5 months and has now, quite properly, been expunged. I wonder if the New Statesman made them remove it in the end. Only the "shortlisted" banner for the Spin awards remains. Of course they did not win the Spin award either as everyone knows the results were released many months ago. That remaining banner announces to the online world that "Richmond council website was NOT one of the winners of the Spin awards this year". Very clever Richmond, another own-goal methinks.

Richmond Council really are terribly bad at public relations.
