Try telling a Tanzanian in work earning 1$ per day that the average UK household owes £35,000. The total UK consumer debt ( i.e. in hock to the banks personally ) is £700 Billion. But to put it into context, The United States and Saudi Governments jointly paid a builder 500 $ Billion over the last 17 years. And what is the name of that builder ? You might have already guessed, he is Osama Bin Laden.In fact B52 bombers are right now destroying some of the very same 'building works'. And God only knows how much our governments are spending 'on our behalf'. Happy consumer week. |
