60% political appointments to the 'NEW' House of Lords. An effective check on Government ? Ridiculous. As ridiculous as Richmond's Scrutiny Committee. "DEMOCRACY "as it was in the 16th century. Under Lord Wakeham's plan 'It would be able to reject only if he or she was a crook or it could be shown they had tried to buy their honour'. So lets have it . BYE BYE Lord Razzall, Lord Sainsbury and Lord Archer . Blair has destroyed The House of Lords and destroyed its ethos, its independence and its dignity.So reform as promised has reduced the citizen's rights... were not we fools to have believed the nonsence ?
