You really wouldn't be wise to be swayed one way or another by comments from someone who has not personally evaluated your feet. That being said, there is rarely, if ever, one and only one method of fixing anything. But it is of utmost importance that any surgery, if it is offer the best chance of being successful, addresses the specifics of the problem at hand, and that often has more to do with the cause or causes which underlie the deformities than the resulting deformities themselves. You have twice emphasized that you will be the one to make up your mind about this, and that is certainly your right. But what you think appropriate, based on what has to be your limited knowledge of the subject, and what might actually be the best course for you should really be in the hands of a surgeon whom you have chosen to trust for sound medical reasons. So my recommendation would be to put your time and effort into the selection of the doctor rather than the exact nature of the procedure, which, no matter how much effort you make, you will not be qualified to judge.
