Hi
I wuz playing @ the park w/my kids when we were running (me in sandals) on the pavement. My sandal slipped off & I ended up jamming my little toe into the pavement. It hurt tons. My foot swelled up & turned greenish/blackish/purple. I went to the doc on Monday (two days later) xrays did not show it broke. They sent me home with pain meds & a funny looking boot/shoe. I did get crutches - (they did not insist on my having them but I felt I needed them) with two small kids in the house on my own - I could not function well with them. I stopped using them.
Well here it is now 10 days after the injury & tho the swelling did go down & color has pretty much turned to normal - I still have lots of pain on my 5 th metatarsal. Should I go back in for more xrays - ?? I know it takes some time to heal - but i thought it would hurt much less by now. R these types of injuries commonly missed? or misdiagnosed?
