I've been having a lot of pain in the joint of my left big toe. My husband thinks it could be gout, but after reading about gout on your website, I'm not so sure. I'm a 32 year old woman who is not at all overweight and I don't believe I have any of the other contributing factors which could cause gout, except for maybe heredity (though I don't know of anyone in my family who has dealt with gout). The pain hurts mostly when I walk, or have been walking, and feels like a million little needles around the joint area of my big toe. There is no swelling or shiny skin. Any other ideas of what it might be?
