Perhaps you misstated your case, but iliotibial tendonitis is one of the overuse syndromes resultant from the flexion and extension activities of the knee joint common in such activities as running. Forefoot varus and excessive pronation are inherent biomechanical flaws of the foot which MAY result in a number of symptomatic problems. But there is not necessarily a direct cause and effect relationship between the foot abnormality and your leg problem. Although correctly prescribed orthotic may be helpful for the foot problem, they may or may not have an effect on the problem for which you initially sought diagnosis and treatment.
