The skin on the bottom of my feet is extremely thick, hard and is yellowish in color. This condition is very strange because I truely feel as if I have an extra thick hard pad glued to the bottom of my feet. The skin in the arch and toes on both feet is normal. This thick hard skin on both of my feet never wears away, it just keeps getting thicker and thicker.
Although I know it is extremely dangerous to do so, I regularly physically cut the thick hard skin off the bottom of my feet. It is not painful in any form. I actually can catch a portion of the thick skin and pull off large sections at a time.Just like pulling skin off your body after a major sun burn, but so much thicker. The removed skin still as some mosture in it because I have watched sheets of the skin dry out and curl up. There is no bleeding or discomfort unless I cut too deep to pull the skin too far on the sides.
After removing the dead skin from my feet, they are sometimes a little tender for a day, but my feet feel so much better and actually feel as if the skin on the bottom of my feet can breath again. I have been going through this since I was 12 and I am now 45. I have tried all the over the counter products I can find as well as the traditional suggestions. I use a pumace stone to keep the skin worn and as clean as I can. I applylotions and wear socks at night but the skins just keeps growing thicker and harder. I have even used utter cream one of the local dairymen gave me to try.
Just to give you an idea, I can easily walk on gravel, hot streets and etc. and not experience any pain. After removing the dead skin walking feels what I deem as normal. But just in a few weeks, I start feeling that thick hard skin starting to smother my feet again.
I also expereince the dry and cracking heals but that is only a minor situation compared to the pad issue. The use of a pumace stone and lotions help the cracking condition regulary.
Can you offer any suggestions or help? I have tried all the logical and craziest ideas I can find or think of and I can assure you that it has been some interesting and amusing efforts made.
