What Trevor Clarke did not mention was the beautiful coloured photo on the front page of the Richmond and Twic. with the by-line
"Lib Dem leader Charles Kennedy was one of the guests of honour at the mayor's reception for Sir David Williams last Friday to celebrate his 18 years as leader."
Celebrate what? From one of the lowest rated boroughs to the highest in London. Millions of Council Tax payers money lost. [I can add up more than £14m see below] A social services record condemned by the minister as some of the worst provisions in England. Council assets disposed of at below value. Council dealing with questionable overseas tax haven registered companies. Services materially poorer. The Council in total disarray. There have been at least three major "reorganisations" resulting in high costs in compensation. The last one mini buying off of officers has cost over £1,000,000.
Not least spending vast sums on "Consulting" and market research but ignoring the results. Remember what was said directly to Cllr Williams at the Riverside meeting by members of the Council's consultative committess. [minutes on this site].
Direct losses
1. Richmond theatre loan [DA report] - £11m
2. Balances lost [DA report] - £ 7m
Well I don't need to go on Williams, do I? But as we all know I could add many millions to the above figures.
In May Williams and Razzal threatened to sue me over a number of allegations including that I said that the Lib Dem Council had lost over £14m over his years of stewardship. He failed to proceed - as usual. While I have asked publicly for an apology for his false statements given to the press he has failed to give one - again.
Come on face the music Councillor. Tell us why we should celebrate your term of office?
Remember we as Council Tax Payers paid the bill for your shin-dig.
