My 15 year old son is scheduled to have surgery for his flat feet/over pronation in mid July. His flat feet are causing pain in his ankles and knees. His orthopedic doctor is going to perform a surgery consisting of lengthing of the achilles tendon, inserting 2 bone graphs (to help form an arch) and a inserting a steel plug (to turn the feet back straight) near the ankle. I believe this is called "The Evans Procedure". Has anyone had this surgery, or a variation of this surgery? What was your outcome and would you recommend it?
