Hello, I have a bone spur on the top of my first toe bone, in the joint area - the part that bends when you walk. I've seen a doctor about it and he says it's due to my first toe bone being 4mm longer than the second toe bone, when it should be about 2mm shorter. And because of that, I have inflammation of the joint and a bone spur has also developed. Well it's getting to the point now where the bone spur really hurts and now I can't wear most of the shoes I own because some part of the shoe rests on the bone spur. Is there anything at all that can be done for this bone spur? It seems to just be getting bigger and bigger and really, more and more painful and extremely inconvenient. I have only 3 pairs of shoes I can wear now. The doctor said to really solve the problem, I could have surgery and just take a 4mm chunk out of my bone, and while they're in there they could clean up the bone spur. But that seems really extreme and it has a very long recovery time. I'm so desperate - anything else I can do to get my life back and not be in pain with every step I take? Thanks for your time and attention in advance!!
