My wife just suffered a classic 2nd or 3rd degree ankle sprain. Rolled it. Much pain and swelling. X-rayed, no break. Plenty of R-I-C-E. The initial lump swelling on the outside of ankle went down, but general overall swelling persists, 43 hours at this point. My Q is: How long does this kind of swelling typically last? Thaks. Mick
