I've had sharp, stabbing pain across the TOP of both arches for over 6 months. I've seen a podiatrist 4 times. Each time I get a different "diagnosis" e.g. tendonitis, flat feet, maybe arthritis. I've been using custom made orthotics and New Balance shoes for 4 months plus OC anti inflamatories for 2 months. I get some pain relief from both but I can hardly walk w/o shoes on. My internist is aware of the problem and monitoring my OC antiinflamitory use because I am diabetic. This doesn't feel like neuopathy pain. Should I see a different podiatrist ? A rheumatologist ? Or go back to the original podiatrist ?
