Dear Foot Doc.

My wife has been suffering for a good three weeks so we went to our local GP who diagonsed the possibility of plantar fasciitis/tendonitis.

Her pain is exacerbated when her 2nd toe is actively dorsiflexed. The pain is located on the dorsal aspect of the 2nd met and the area of pain is at the articulation of the the IPJ of the 2nd and kills her when it is palpated even very carefully.

The Doctor has prescribed 2 x Indocid tablets for 7 days to help with inflammation and she has had her foot strapped for a good 4 solid days.

She finds the pain is worsened when she stands on it for prolonged periods and last night she complained that it felt like a strong burning sensation that felt as though it was going to explode???

Do you think she should get an ultrasound? Can this identify if it is truly tendonitis or plantar fasciitis?

I hope you can help us.
