Dear Sanjeev,
It sounds like what you describe is some thing called a Haglunds Deformity. This is a bony growth found commonly on the posterior lateral part of the calcaneus.

Treatment for such varies from simple padding for the shoe, to surgical debridment in severe cases.

Your podiatrist should be able to give you the best advise upon examination.
