I have been experiencing pain on the outer sides of both heels for a few months now. The pain ranges from barely noticeable to extremely painful at times. It's usually worse in the mornings when I first wake up but the pain is almost always there. This is not a dull ache or throbbing kind of pain. The pain is concentrated in one small spot mirrored on the outside of each heel. I can touch my foot anywhere else and not feel any discomfort but as soon as I touch that one spot on either foot, I feel a very distinct and sharp pain. Any ideas on what this could be before I run to the doctor?
