I will assume that you are simply speaking of discoloration of the nail plate and not gangrene of the toe. There are various reasons that toenails may discolor and become loose from their attachment, but this is not generally thought of as having a direct relation to or being a sign of diabetes. That being said, some toenail abnormalities can mirror various medical problems in the body, and it would not be a bad idea, either for the sake of treatment of whatever nail problem you might be experiencing or finding if there is some other problem which needs treatment. If you have to ask the question, you probably should, if for nothing else than information based on a hands-on diagnosis. |
