i just had bunion and hammer toe surgery on one foot, but still hoping to have the other one done later on. its been just 6 days since the operation and still very hard to walk and havent dared to try driving. got very discouraged when i first looked at my foot on changing bandages, the big toe is more spread out than i expected and it feels stiff. i cant give exact account of the procedure but the doc said he had to place 3 screws on the bone due to its softness. i must say i had bunion removal from both feet years ago, but they turned back and the big toes were goin in instead of being straight after some time after. i know this surgery wont make my feet perfect but i thought it could ease the fitting of shoes, but when i looked at it seemed finding proper shoes now would be even harder if my feet were going to be like that. although its still early to make a fair judgement i really feel discouraged and regretful of having had the operation. i would like to know what i can expect from it, but feel like my doc isnt even sure, he says my foot is still swallen. another problem as i see it is the age, not being that young it could be hard to know the outcome. please can u give me some ideas based on experience from other patients? |
