I have been dismayed at the direction Watchdog has taken in the past weeks. Its teeth have been extracted to make it an immensely boring, caricature of its previous trenchant self. Councillors Mann, Cardy, Mayor Whittel and a pathetically disguised Sir Williams have conspired to turn this publication into a benign Richmond and Twickenham Times letters page lookalike. They clearly could not stop the wiley Mr Meacock by legal means so it appears they have decided to swamp Watchdog with trivia from a freshers debate at law school. Talk about boring! And a few of the Watchdog regulars have fallen for this schoolboy prank, hook, line and stinker. Messers Berend, Harvey and Clarke please take note.
